Basics of Beast Mastery Hunter

By dealing your most damage trough your pets, Beast Mastery Hunter are very mobile, without losing out on their damage. Beast Mastery Hunter are the only spec in the game that are fully able to deal damage while moving. This makes them extremly useful for dealing with mechanics in either raids or dungeons.

Builds and Talents

General Talent Tree

Most Notable Talents

Alpha Predator, Steel Trap, Death Chakram, Explosive Shot and Serpent Sting are our last row Talents. These have the most impact in our playstyle. Kill Shot and Kill Command are located in the top of the Talent Tree.

Other Damage Talents

Master Marksman causes our attacks to make the enemy bleed, Keen Eyesight increases our Critical Strike chance, and Beast Master grants our pet more damage. These are located in the bottom row.

Crowd Control & Utility

Intimidation, Binding Shot, Scare Beast, Tar Trap, Scatter Shot and Concussive Shot are our Crowd Control Talents. Counter Shot, Tranquilizing Shot, Misdirection, Camouflage are our Utility. Sentinel Owl grants our party members unhindered vision to the target location.

Defensive Talents

Survival of the Fittest and all allocated Talents are granting us additional Heal and Survivability.

Specialization Talent Tree

Single Target Talents
  • Bloodshed or A Murder of Crows are 1-minute cooldowns, which deal damage to your enemy. Bloodshed additionally increases the damage you deal to the target by 15% for 18 seconds.
  • Bestial Wrath is a 90-seconds cooldown which causes you and your pet to deal 25% more damage to your target.
  • Dire Beast causes you to call a powerful wild beast to attack your target and increase your Haste by 5% for 10 seconds.
  • Dire Command grants your Kill Command a 30% chance to randomly summon a Dire Beast for 10 seconds.
  • Call of the Wild is a 3-minute cooldown which summons 2 of your active pets, and additional pets from your stable every 4 seconds, for 20 seconds.
Multi Target Talents
  • Multi-Shot deals damage to all enemies nearby of your current target.
  • Beast Cleave causes your pet’s melee attacks to also strike all nearby enemies after using Multi-Shot.
  • Kill Cleave causes your Kill Command to strike all nearby enemies while Beast Cleave is active.
  • Stomp causes your Barbed Shot to make your pet stomp the ground and deal damage to all nearby enemies.
  • Wailing Arrow deals damage to all enemies nearby of your current target and silence them for 3 seconds.
  • Aspect of the Wild is a 2-minute cooldown, causing your Cobra Shot to damage one additional target.

Stat Priority

Stat Choice for Beast Mastery Hunter

General Stat Priority for Beast Mastery Hunter with our Build is:

  1. Agility
  2. Mastery
  3. Critical Strike
  4. Haste
  5. Versatility

Agility is your primary stat, meaning that Itemlevel is superior in most cases. Higher Itemlevel will also increase your Stamina and Armor that you gain.

Critical Strike increases the chance for your abilities and spells to deal double damage.

Haste reduces your global cooldown, your time to cast spells, and reduces the cooldown of many abilities.

Versatility grants you a flat damage and healing increase, but also a damage decrease for half of its value.

Mastery increases the damage done by your pets.

The further we are getting into the expansion, the effects of diminishing returns start to limit your effective gain of your secondary stats. After reaching 30% (by rating) of any given stat, you will start to receive a penalty that reduces the gain from more of the same stat over this treshold.

Stat priority can differ on every character. Make sure to simulate yourself on Raidbots get the perfect results for you.
