Welcome to our Survival Hunter Guide for World of Warcraft: Dragonflight. We will help you to learn and master Survival Hunter in either Raids or Mythic Keystone Dungeons.

Easy Mode

Basics of Survival Hunter

Survival Hunter is the melee Hunter spec. By being a melee, it makes it extremly mobile, with a very unique playstyle. Survival Hunter also can deal damage on mid-range, making them very powerful whenever they have to slightly move away from their target.

Builds and Talents

General Talent Tree

Most Notable Talents

Alpha Predator, Steel Trap, Death Chakram, Explosive Shot and Serpent Sting are our last row Talents. These have the most impact in our playstyle. Kill Shot and Kill Command are located in the top of the Talent Tree.

Other Damage Talents

Master Marksman causes our attacks to make the enemy bleed, Keen Eyesight increases our Critical Strike chance, and Beast Master grants our pet more damage. These are located in the bottom row.

Crowd Control & Utility

Intimidation, Binding Shot, Scare Beast, Tar Trap, Scatter Shot and Concussive Shot are our Crowd Control Talents. Counter Shot, Tranquilizing Shot, Misdirection, Camouflage are our Utility. Sentinel Owl grants our party members unhindered vision to the target location.

Defensive Talents

Survival of the Fittest and all allocated Talents are granting us additional Heal and Survivability.

Specialization Talent Tree

Single Target Talents

Aspect of the Eagle is a 1.2-minute cooldown which increases the range of Raptor Strike and Mongoose Bite to 40 yards for 15 seconds.
Mongoose Bite replaces Raptor Strike, and every Mongoose Bite increases the damage of the next one by 15% for 14 seconds, stacking up 5 times.
Spearhead lets you and your pet charge to your enemy, dealing damage and increasing your pet damage by 25%.
Flanking Strike lets you and your pet leap to your target, and deal damage to them.

Multi Target Talents

Wildfire Bomb deals damage to all enemies, dealing damage and leaves a periodic damage debuff.
Wildfire Infusion causes your Wildfire Bomb to rotate between different additional effects.
Fury of the Eagle deals damage in a frontal cone, with an increased critical strike chance.
Butchery is a new ability which deals damage to all nearby enemies.
Bombardier causes your Wildfire Bomb to reset its cooldown whenever you use Coordinated Assault.
Birds of Prey causes your Kill Shot to hit 3 additional enemies whenever you use Coordinated Assault.

Stat Priority

Stat Choice for Survival Hunter

General Stat Priority for Survival Hunter with our Build is:

Agility is your primary stat, meaning that Itemlevel is superior in most cases. Higher Itemlevel will also increase your Stamina and Armor that you gain.

Critical Strike increases the chance for your abilities and spells to deal double damage.

Haste reduces your global cooldown, your time to cast spells, and reduces the cooldown of many abilities.

Versatility grants you a flat damage and healing increase, but also a damage decrease for half of its value.

Mastery increases the damage of your and your pet’s Focus spending abilities. Additionally, you and your pet are healed passively.

The further we are getting into the expansion, the effects of diminishing returns start to limit your effective gain of your secondary stats. After reaching 30% (by rating) of any given stat, you will start to receive a penalty that reduces the gain from more of the same stat over this treshold.

Stat priority can differ on every character. Make sure to simulate yourself on Raidbots get the perfect results for you.
