Builds and Talents

General Talent Tree

Most Notable Talents

Summon Soulkeeper or Inquisitor’s Gaze are granting you an additional damaging ability. Additionally with the Curses in the top row, these will have the most impact in your playstyle.

Other Damage Talents

Grimoire of Synergy grants either you or your pet’s abilities to increase the damage done by the other one by 10% for 15 seconds. Soul Conduit grants you a 10% chance to refund a Soul Shard whenever spent.

Crowd Control & Utility

Mortal Coil, Shadow Fury and Banish are your Crowd Control abilities. Demonic Gateway can be used by all partymembers to travel between two different locations.

Defensive Talents

Most of all other Talents in the General Tree are defensive Talents. Most significant ones to note are Soul Link, which causes you to transfer 10% of your damage taken to your pet. Unending Resolve and Dark Pact grant you defensive cooldowns that you can actively use. All other Talents are increasing your defensive in a passive way.

Specialization Talent Tree

Single Target Talents

Demonic Tyrant remains one of the strongest cooldowns for Demonology Warlocks. While Nether Portal could potentially be a strong talent aswell, we are utilizing the talents on the left side. Guillotine is still very strong in single target, even if it is mostly used for AoE situations. Infernal Command will grant you passively 10% more damage for your Wild Imps and Dreadstalkers.

Dreadstalkers have become way more relevant for Demonology Warlocks, causing most of your talents in the top and middle rows to be centered around Dreadstalkers.

Demonic Strength is another strong, but well known, cooldown that will cause another Felstorm by your Felguard.

Other talents in our talent tree increase our damage with Shadowbolt and Demonbolt. Shadowbolt grants you a stacking buff, increasing the damage of Demonbolt by 15%, up to 4 stacks, for 20 seconds.

Multi Target Talents

Most significant changes in AoE is the talent Implosion. This ability lets you sacrifice all remaining Wild Imps and explode them to all enemies close to your current target.

Instead of the short cooldown Demonic Strength, for dynamic situations like Mythic Keystone Dungeons we are choosing Soul Strike, granting us a quick way to generate Soul Shards frequently.

Fel Might reduces the cooldown of Felstorm by 10 seconds. Pact of the Imp Mother grants your Hand of Gul’dan a 5% chance to cast second time on your target for free, granting you additional Wild Imps which can be further used for Implosion.

Stat Priority

Stat Choice for Demonology Warlock

General Stat Priority for Demonology Warlock with our Build is:

  1. Intellect
  2. Haste
  3. Mastery
  4. Critical Strike = Versatility

Intellect is your primary stat, meaning that Itemlevel is superior in most cases. Higher Itemlevel will also increase your Stamina and Armor that you gain.

Critical Strike increases the chance for your abilities and spells to deal double damage.

Haste reduces your global cooldown, your time to cast spells, and reduces the cooldown of many abilities.

Versatility grants you a flat damage increase, but also a damage decrease for half of its value.

Mastery increases the damage dealt by your demons.

The further we are getting into the expansion, the effects of diminishing returns start to limit your effective gain of your secondary stats. After reaching 30% (by rating) of any given stat, you will start to receive a penalty that reduces the gain from more of the same stat over this treshold.

Stat priority can differ on every character. Make sure to simulate yourself on Raidbots get the perfect results for you.
