Welcome to our Destruction Warlock Guide for World of Warcraft: Dragonflight. We will help you to learn and master Destruction Warlock in either Raids or Mythic Keystone Dungeons.
Last Update: 16-03-2023
The masters of fire and shadow spells, Destruction Warlocks will use their strong spells to incinerate enemies. Destruction Warlock is the only Warlock spec which utilizes long spellcasts to deal damage. Paired with unique utility like Demonic Gateway, Warlocks are a great choice for your next dungeon or raid.
General Stat Priority for Destruction Warlock with our Build is:
Please read our Rotation and Cooldown section for further information.
Summon Soulkeeper or Inquisitor’s Gaze are granting you an additional damaging ability. Additionally with the Curses in the top row, these will have the most impact in your playstyle.
Grimoire of Synergy grants either you or your pet’s abilities to increase the damage done by the other one by 10% for 15 seconds. Soul Conduit grants you a 10% chance to refund a Soul Shard whenever spent.
Mortal Coil, Shadow Fury and Banish are your Crowd Control abilities. Demonic Gateway can be used by all partymembers to travel between two different locations.
Most of all other Talents in the General Tree are defensive Talents. Most significant ones to note are Soul Link, which causes you to transfer 10% of your damage taken to your pet. Unending Resolve and Dark Pact grant you defensive cooldowns that you can actively use. All other Talents are increasing your defensive in a passive way.
Single Target, most likely Raid, encounters will shift our talent tree more to the left side of the talent tree.
With all the available talent points at level 70, Destruction Warlocks can play similar as they did during the end of Shadowlands. Summon Infernal, combined with their Shadowlands Legendary Grand Warlock’s Design, is across the board a very strong which makes its comeback to Dragonflight. Ritual of Ruin and Avatar of Destruction have been the previous Tier Set bonuses from Shadowlands. Every 10 Soul Shards spent will cause your next Chaos Bolt or Rain of Fire to be free to use, and have their cast time reduced by 50%. Whenever this happens, you summon a similar Infernal for 8 seconds, dealing damage to enemies and granting you more Soul Shard Fragments.
Soul Fire is a new talent, dealing very high damage to the enemy and applying Immolate. Destruction Warlocks will make use of this to reapply Immolate on their target.
Destruction Warlocks will still utilize the same bottom row talents as during Single Target. Summon Infernal, and their old Tier Set bonus from Shadowlands are granting them very strong damage in Single Target, but especially in Multi-Target.
Rain of Fire and Cataclysm are located in the right side of the talent tree, granting us an easy way to apply Immolate to many targets at the same time, while also dealing high AoE damage.
We can maintain Immolate on many targets for a little bit longer with Channel Demonfire. Besides dealing a high amount of damage, it also increases the duration of Immolate on all targets hit by 0.5 seconds per hit.
Also on the right side of the talent tree, Fire and Brimstone will cause our Incinerate to hit all nearby enemies. This might be very powerful whenever you are in a downtime with your Soul Shards, and need to use Incinerate as a filler.

Critical Strike increases the chance for your abilities and spells to deal double damage.
