Highest Player Retention in History of Path of Exile – Affliction 3.23

January 15, 2024

Another record has been broken with the current League 3.23 – Affliction. This Season sees the highest player retention after 3 weeks, holding strong even at the current 6 week mark.

Current Player Retention

Measured by the Steam DB charts tracking the amount of players actively playing Path of Exile, the current Season 3.23 Affliction has broken the record of longest player retention since the third week, holding strong even in the current sixth week of the Season.

The current League almost marks it halftime, according to a regular 3-4 months longevity of a Season.

Current Steam Charts

Grinding Gear Games has previously announced that only 60% of their players play through Steam, while 40% use their own launcher.

The only available stats are the ones from the Steam Database, showcasing the current amount of players in Path of Exile over time.

Despite the big controversy about the current state of the Affliction 3.23 League, causing never-seen before Loot Explosions, players are still playing the current Season longer then previous ones, like Crucible.

This is also caused by a higher amount of players starting the current Season compared to previous ones, showing the steadily increasing success of Path of Exile (except for Crucible League, which was fueled by the Diablo IV release).
