Until now, it was not possible to remain in a party whenever you logged out of Path of Exile, or just disconnected randomly. This is now going to be changed in the future. Grinding Gear Games announced an upcoming Patch which introduces support for Offline Party Members.

  • Players will still be able to remove offline Party Members if they wish to.
  • Players will be automatically removed from a group if they are offline for longer then 2 minutes.
  • If you went offline while in a group and changed your character, you will be removed from the group.

Path of Exile will also see additional changes to how party invites work:

  • We’ve fixed the party invite notification to always show the player that sent the invite, rather than showing the party leader.
  • We’ve updated the notifications to display more accurate information, such as if you were kicked from the party or if the party was disbanded.
  • The context menu (the menu that pops up when you right click a player) has also been slightly cleaned up so that buttons shown are dependent on the player’s location, online/offline status and from where you accessed the context menu.
